Kamal Ekchai Magar is a Nepali film director, writer, and editor, known for his realistic storytelling and emotional visual expression. Active in the Nepali film industry since 2009, Kamal has directed acclaimed feature films such as Shirphool (2018) and Desan (2023). His films are based on rural life, human emotions, and stories of social transformation.
Kamal was born in a beautiful village in the hilly district of Ramechhap, Nepal. Growing up amidst simplicity, rich culture, and hardworking people, he learned to understand life deeply from an early age. These experiences inspired him to share the stories of rural communities and Nepali society through cinema.
Kamal began his career in 2009 as a music video editor. His creative vision and narrative sense quickly caught people’s attention. Over time, he directed and edited more than 150 music videos, bringing a new visual style and deeper meaning to the Nepali music industry.
